{OOC: The so called anti climatic ending to the battle royale at the Pizza Place. This is just a thread to heal Mori, having no idea to put it, decided to have it here, since Zen and his grandpa moved to his city. If it isn't clear, Zen has left that thread by shadow walking in the post before Mori's, which was the last one}
Zen carried Mori in his arms straight to the living room table, which was about as big as a surgery operation table. Hope this works, he thought. "Gramps!" he yelled, calling out in frustration. Grandpa walked in, saw the girl on the table and immediately started to work.
"Ok, Zen I want you to go get my big medical kit. The one I told you not to touch unless it's an emergency. And guess what? This is an emergency," he said quite simply. While Zen hurried off, Grandpa took some scissors and but off the clothing covering her side. He was careful to let Mori still be somewhat covered, but a major wound was a major wound and he knew it was life threatening.
Zen came back with the tools and quickly made sure all of them were in the best of shape. They were always sanitized, all of them, practically every other day by Grandpa, so he didn't fear if they were that dirty. His Gramps took several tools, sanitized them, and began working.
"Okay Zen, I want you to knock her out with this here, " motioning Zen to inject an extremely potent painkiller/knockout mix. It was completely safe, albeit a rather strong mixture. Zen took it, and injected Mori with it. "Now, help me pull out this pole here," Grandpa ordered again. Zen pulled out the pole, almost gasping as he saw the damage it had done.
Grandpa, without even looking back, told Zen to go sit down. "I'll call you if I need to. Now rest," he merely said before checking the wound.
Hmmm, he thought. There seem to be no signs of internal bleeding, even if the wound itself is leaking life a faucet. Pressing a pressure point to stop majority of the bleeding and cleaned the wound as well.
He was extremely careful with cleaning, as such operations hinged on whether the wound would be infected or not. The operation could just so easily save her life if only to lose it again to an infectious wound. He made sure to carefully nothing was out of the ordinary. Besides the gaping hole of course.
He saw now that although no internal bleeding occurred the digestive tract seemed out of place. Grandpa theorized that the pole somehow missed the organs yet thrown everything off. This of course damaged minor blood vessels, although the bleeding was minimal. Knowing fully well that a little added to a lot, he went through he severely intensive procedure of cutting the blood vessels to stop bleeding, grafting the blood cells to maintain blood flow, and the rearrangement of the organs.
Several hours later......
Grandpa walked out slowly, taking off his bloodied gloves. "It was a little tiring," he said. "But, it¡¯s done." Zen jumped up in joy, hugging his Grandpa despite being hurt himself and Grandpa being a little bloodied.
"Now let's see," he said. He shook his head at the wounds Zen acquired over the fight. "None of them are deep, but pretty big thought. Come over here," and motioning to Zen, washed his wounds and bandaged up everything. "Now don't touch the girl, she's still resting. I already bandaged her up and my god did that take some work," he said with what almost was a laugh.
"I've made the table much more comfortable, moving a bed sheet over her and a pillow under. You can shadow move something under her if you really like, but I'm going to sleep," and with that Grandpa turned around and left. "Don't forget," he said. "You've got some explaining to do when I wake up.
Some time later.....
Zen sat asleep in a chair with his resting on the bedside. He had shadow move an entire mattress on to the table, transforming it into a somewhat elevated bed. Fighting sleep, pain, and hunger, he made sure to be right next to her at all times. If Mori suddenly woke up, he had to make sure she wasn't in shock, either from the surgery or from confusion of new surroundings.
"M...Mori...." Zen mumbled in his sleep.

Just as Zen fell asleep Mori mumbled something, well someone. "Akira......"
"It's been a while......." Mori took another sip of coffee and slumped down in her seat. She had done this often, she waited the night away on this roof for him. Mori looked around with her hands stuffed in her pockets, like a child's her head darted around. There he was, up on the rooftop, she frowned he didn't have his guitar with him though. He just stood there, on a rooftop that towered above the one she was one by a few meters. His black hair covered his pine-green eyes. Mori jumps up with a grin and walked over she looked up at him. "Akira!!!"
The sound of his name makes Akira jump, his gleeful eyes peer down at Mori as he gives her a smile. "Mori! There you are!!!"
The setting changes quickly. One moment Mori's on the rooftops with Akira and then at the place where Akira died. A wide alley behind a factory. Fireworks went off, just like the ones that were going off when he died. Akira was still looking at her, still smiling until someone thrust a sword threw him. Shockingly bright deep blue eyes shined out from the darkness. He gripped his sword expertly from behind Akira as he continued to cut him down until Akira was on the ground, barely holding on. Mori tried to move, to save him but was glued to the spot. Pure hate burned in her eyeballs.
The killer looked at her and smiled as if he had done a good deed. He runs a hand through his silver hair. "Don't fret Mori. I've liberated you of this monster, now you can join me."
Mori now could move, her fists tightened as she walked over and said, every inch of the anger and hate she held within her body apparent in her voice. "I would never join you Lucifer." Lucifer frowns. "I guess I was too late then, what a pity, I'll have to kill you both..." Lucifer turns around and walks towards Akira, but this time Mori can move. She rushes forward and kicks him in the back. Lucifer flies into some trash cans and Mori kneels down beside Akira and holds him up slightly. "Akira! Akira are you alright?!" Akira's eyes were hardly opened as Lucifer is suddenly upon them. He slices down, trying to cut both of them in half.
As Mori was engrossed in her dream, she had been sweating and giving all the symptoms of someone who had was having a nightmare would, a little of tossing and turning, and some mumbling in her sleep thrown in. Suddenly her eyes snap open and she springs up into a sitting position, screaming. "NO!!!!" Mori pants and grips her chest in pain. She notices that someone had bandaged her, seeing that her shirt was in tatters.
Sighing she took it off and threw it to the floor, wincing as she did from the pain. It wasn't a problem, the bandages covered her whole torso. They were wrapped around her neck, then looped over shoulders and armpits, then finally around her whole middle, from under her clavicle and down, just above her hips. Obviously in pain she laid back down and closed her eyes.

A scream, a motion, and Zen bolted awake. Through the darkness, he saw Mori panting on the bed, obviously trying to get over the pain. Suddenly, he remembered what Grandpa had said. When she wakes up, he had said, do not give his anymore painkillers. The last dose was potent enough. He must have seen the reluctance on Zen's face because he added, We don't want her to be addicted now do we?
That was always how he was, Zen thought with a sigh. Always three steps ahead and knowing how everything is happening without any trouble to himself. Sometimes I wonder how he mana-
Zen broke off his thoughts as he realized that Mori's body wasn't just simply contorting from the recent surgery. Many times before he had thought she had awoken only to find it was a false alarm. But this is real, he thought. He would've jumped in joy if Mori didn't require the rest she needed so badly.
Getting a towel, he lightly poked Mori's shoulder. He wasn't sure if she had noticed him and hoped she didn't mind having him keep watch. "Hey Mori!" he said, glad to be finally able to talk to her. "guess what? The operation was successful! Now don't move too much, okay? Your organs sort of moved somehow, I don't really know since my Gramps didn't bother to explain, but Gramps put them back together again and I guess it's okay now," he paused, wondering if Mori could catch up. "Just don't try to move around too much, I'm not sure if it's safe."
'Wow, you're sweating," Zen said, wondering why. Maybe its a little shock he thought. Nah, Mori?, the darker side thought. I'll go play with lights faster than she could get shocked. Shut it!, the lighter side scolded. This is a perfectly good situation. Don't ruin it!
Zen cut them off, and turned to make sure Mori wasn't in shock or anything. "You're okay, right Mori," worry obviously in his voice. "Here," he said, beckoning to the towel. "Let me help you wipe this off," and with that bent forward to wipe off her face. Nothing can happen, he thought.
Right?

Mori wasn't in the mood to have Zen touch her really. Seriously, would anyone enjoy waking up from a nightmare in severe pain?! Mori grabbed his hand, probably squeezing it a bit too hard and snarled. "Do.Not.Touch.Me." Plain and clear as day. She dropped his hand and groaned again, turning over so her back was to him. She looked around the room, it looked like she was in someone's living room. From the looks of it....they were old. She glanced downwards and saw that she was on a mattress, which was on some kind of table.
Mori let out some sort of growl, these bandages were wrapped to tightly, so much that they would probably leave deep imprints on even her tough skin. Her body obviously hurt, so much that she couldn't think of a witty analogy for it. She felt dirty and was royally annoyed. Mori should have been thankful toward Zen, but the pain blurred her thinking and made her lash out at him instead.
She groaned again and continued to look around like she was some animal in the zoo, restless and annoyed, wanting to beat the daylights out of something, anything really.

{OOC: If you're not really sure what the first part says, it basically means Zen has been in much pain before, but the wounds basically caused him pain and perhaps a week of resting. Not like Mori's injury, which needed open surgery}
Zen winced as Mori lashed out at him. Which he completely understood. More than often he had been this much in pain, although never as severely hurt as Mori was right now. When he was in this much pain, he had lashed out at his grandfather, only because that was the only release from pain. But at this rate, the perspiration might affect these bandages, Zen thought. Or worse, cause some form of shock...
"Mori," Zen whispered into her ear. "Please just let me wipe off your sweat. Or you could try doing it yourself. But you're in too much pain right now so please, let me help," Zen spoke while his voice remained at a calm monotonous tone.
Then, while leaning forward with his he hummed a relaxing melody. It was the one he would listen to while his grampa would make him meditate. He never knew why, but it was always calming, soothing, like a lullaby. Even when he used to be all fired up, it would never cease to calm him. Not that he thought it would work on Mori. No he was more tensed up now than her and he needed the relaxation.
But who knows?, a quiet portion of his brain thought. Life has unsuspecting surprises.

Mori had never screwed up this badly. She was familiar with the pain though, but no matter how many times it happened, she would always react the same way. However she'd usually be healed in a matter of minutes by professionals, and now she cursed herself for not asking them how they did it, but if she did that….she might not even be here right now.
She growled as Zen's hand came closer, warning him not to come near her. She was loathing the fact that Eden would be able to find her, and even though they wouldn't kill her, they'd definitely have a little talk with her about it....at least she hoped they wouldn't try to kill her. Mori hoped they wouldn't look into it, although they probably had already. They've probably figured the whole fight out, who exactly was in it, and got all of their information, herself, Zen's, the Emo dude's, and then whoever Zen was fighting with.
Mori cursed out loud. "f**k. Now we're all in trouble." Eden wouldn't hesitate to scope all of them out, to determine who was a threat and who they could ignore. Mori glanced at Zen for a moment. 'He might be fine, Zen's not too suspicious or hostile….and they might overlook me…but those two, they're the ones in trouble.' With a slight groan she sat up and bit her thumb. 'If he can command shadows…they might send Adam to render him useless, but would they send anyone else? Maybe Eve….then again Adam's a frickin' tank….and that girl who Zen was fighting with, who is she? What is she?!' Mori cursed out loud again for only focusing on the man the whole time, not to mention the 10 minutes in which she totally blacked out. She knew that if Eden was going to erase them that she wouldn't interfere, Eden was a necessary evil, they erased anyone that would be a threat to the world's balance. And sadly, Mori knew who was more important.
With a sigh she grabbed the cloth from Zen and wiped herself off. It hurt a lot but she'd have to endure it for now.

Zen leaned back as Mori cleaned herself off. He could hear the winces of pain but he knew that he couldn't really do anything about it. Sighing, he rubbed his head as the entire battle flashed through his mind. Looking back at it, Zen knew there was perhaps a dozen other ways that would have lead to better outcomes, if only he had actually thought before acting. No, instead he had to use that heart of his, which of course decided whoever attacking Mori had to be attacked too. What was I thinking, he thought. Oh, I can answer that, the light side answered. I mean, it's so friggin obvious. You. Like. Her. That's it. Zen almost groaned. Partially because he thought he was going insane with these voices in his head. Mostly cause he knew what he said was right. Why are you here?, Zen shot back. I'm pretty sure this isn't normal. So get out!Tsk tsk. Is that how you treat your teacher? Your grandfather would be ashamed, the light side retorted. Leave my gramps out of this, Zen replied, beginning to feel awkward with an argument raging in his head. And you're not my teacher anyway!Ohhh, the kid has a point there, the dark side said, having decided this was the best way to join in. Besides, the girl isn't your biggest problem. That emo kid is. He controls shadows better than you do. Sure you have darkness and all, but I can tell he's got more than what he's showing. Probably more than what he actually knows of himself. Of course that's where I come in. You mean us, the light side said with a hint of annoyance. I don't get it. Why do I always get the weird jobs....Wait, what?, Zen said, completely oblivious with the secret conclusion the other two sides had come up with. Oh nothing, the dark side replied. Just me and that light bulb over there agreed to train you as master of both of us. It was your decision anyway...Oh right, Zen thought, thinking back to the final moments of the battle. Just before the building collapsed, he had made a deci-- Suddenly reminded of the reality, Zen jolted out of his trance, finding himself in a peculiar position. He was hanging from the ceiling, connected by strands of dark and light. As he began to come out back to the real world, the strands plopped him back onto his chair. "Whoa", Zen said. "What was that?" {OOC: Time elapsed in his mind argument: Ten minutes. Have fun with how Mori deals with this Ace }

Mori layed back down and closed her eyes as, unbeknowst to her of course, Zen had his internal arguement. Waves of pain were still wracking her body, had they even given her a painkiller?! Once she was able to get off this...'bed' she was grabbing the first bottle that she could find and swallowing half those pills with or without water. At this point, the pain was so intense that she focused on only that, so much that her limbs felt numb. However there was nothing wrong with her arms or legs....
She frowned as she sat in her world of temporary darkness. Some light hit her eyelids however, she hoped it was whoever had wrapped her up, but it wasn't. When Mori opened up her eyes she say Zen hanging from the ceiling by little strands of light and darkness. Mori almost growled and slowly lifted her arm and grabbed his ankle. "Stop fooling around you idiot!" She yanked on his ankle but not only didn't he respond, but he didn't fall either. Mori growled once more and let go of his ankle, using that hand to help her up. She wobbled a little, leaning forward and grabbing Zen's mid-section to steady herself.
Mori mumbled various insults as she continued to pull on him, now a little light-headed, and still holding on to him. Without warning Zen fell back into his chair, taking Mori with him. So now kneeling on the floor, hugging Zen, Mori was fuming.
"Whoa. What was that?"
"My respect for you flying out of the window! Jeez, what were you doing anyway?!" Being Mori, she hadn't noticed that her arms were still around him, too blinded by anger to see anything beside Zen from the neck up.

Zen looked down at Mori, which only helped to confuse him some more. His face turned beat red. "W-why are you hugging me? C'mon get up," he said, not meeting her face. He didn't say it, but Zen really wanted Mori to stay that way. But she's hurt and she needs the rest, Zen thought as he tried his best to lift Mori. And you need yours, the darker side remarked, before submerging again.
"Umm, yeah sorry about that. I don't really know what it was but I think it's-"
"It is nothing," Grandpa said as he walked in, hands behind his back and a smile on his face. "How are you doing? I am Zen's grandfather, and you must be Mori. I would normally scold you for all the things you have done, but I think the pain is good enough." Reaching over to a desk nearby, he pulled out several different painkillers. "Here, have a little bit so it may help you rest. Wouldn't want you to stay awake all night just because you're hurting all over."
Zen looked back at his grandpa, wondering why he had cut him off. "But grampa, this is important. I thin-"
"Don't think Zen," Grandpa cut him of before letting him continue. "Now you must rest. You can talk later. Your little girlfriend there needs her rest and so do you. Ok?" With that said, he turned away with a smile on his face and began walking out. Kids these days, so immature.

"W-why are you hugging me? C'mon get up," That was all he said. Mori growled, he wasn't even looking at her and he didn't even answer her question nonetheless.
"Just answer the d**n question will ya?!" She snarled. Mori glanced over toward another door as she heard it creak open. An old man stood in the doorway and cut Zen off just as he was about to answer her question.
"How are you doing? I am Zen's grandfather, and you must be Mori. I would normally scold you for all the things you have done, but I think the pain is good enough."
She smirked and used the top of Zen's thigh as leverage to help her stand up. "Che, you wouldn't be the first to scold me old man. And trust me I've been through worse."
"Here, have a little bit so it may help you rest. Wouldn't want you to stay awake all night just because you're hurting all over."
Without a word she defiantly, even though it was excruciatingly painful, walked over to him as normally as she could manage and took the pills from him. "Hmph...No water?" She mumbled before taking two and walking back over to her 'hospital bed'. Mori carefully set herself onto it and closed her eyes, trying to feign sleep.
"Don't think Zen, now you must rest. You can talk later. Your little girlfriend there needs her rest and so do you. Ok?"
"Not his girlfriend." She said bluntly without even opening her eyes or disrupting her steady breathing pattern. Mori felt the pain die down a little and let out a sigh of relief, but she still knew better. "It doesn't matter how many painkillers you give me, I refuse to sleep....at least right now...."
((Oh and by the way Zen, Mori's 'engraving' is totally visable ya know. Perhaps Zen's Grandfather would know, she was pretty famous >3))

{Man did it just take me a month to reply? I feel ashamed....}
As Conflict retreated back to his own room to take a quick nap, Grandpa turned to face Mori again. Looking at her, he could easily tell the girl in front of him wasn't just any other mutant. He didn't know how Zen managed to dig such a deep hole for himself, but he certainly bit off more than he could chew. No, not a hole, Gramps thought to himself. Practically a grave.
"So, now to the real question," Gramps said with an edge of steel in his voice. He knew he had to keep his voice down. No need to wake Zen up from his little nap. "What gives me the honor of having a very own number in my small apartment? And for me to treat her as well! Oh the honor it truly is," Gramps said with almost a hint of malice. Sure, he never was at odds with them personally, but Gramps always had...strong views at what Eden's agents did and especially how they choose to go around and do it.
"Now tell me," Gramps said, finding it within himself somehow not to jump up and just yell. "Why are you so incredibly hurt and does it have to do with the other numbers? I would hate if my own little grandchild got hurt in the middle your¡¡®business¡¯," Gramps said, his eyes practically glaring holes into Mori's body.
"Now, don't you agree?"

It was at that moment that Mori remembered another reason why she hated old people so much. Not only did they smell and drool most of the time, but they had this odd idea that they could be such smart-alecs! With a slight groan of pain, she sat up and gave the old guy a wry smirk. "No worries old guy, I have nothin' to do with Eden anymore!" The smirk faded into a heated glare. "But if you ever speak to me like that again...the consequences will be unthinkable."
The ex-number layed back down with another groan and folded her arms behind her head. "Besides, even if I was, I wouldn't even have gotten involved with your little grandson." She blew one bang away from her face before mumbling the next part of her statement. "And I definitely wouldn't have gotten banged up this badly...." Off course, with the old guy in front of her, she assumed that he couldn't hear her.
"Now tell me, why are you so incredibly hurt and does it have to do with the other numbers? I would hate if my own little grandchild got hurt in the middle your business,"
She groans once more. "No it does not have anything to do with the other numbers, jeez...old people are so annoying..."

{OOC: We should wrap this thread up. Conflict went off to sleep and any misunderstanding should be cleared now. Maybe we can talk about why his Grandfather knows about Eden in another thread}
Gramps sighed, content to know that his small, yet important, family was safe for now. Standing up, his face was once again relaxed and composed, and his voice was no longer tense. "I hope you excuse me for what I just said, my dear. But you probably understand anyway; Eden is not something you simply mess with and I was simply afraid for my old set of bones here," he said with a laugh.
"Do no worry though," he said as he turned around, walking back towards his room. "No one can find us here and I made sure of that. Simply rest because it definitely seems like you need it. You may stay here as long as you like and I hope there is nothing between us from what just happened here."
"I also hope you will not tell Zen of anything that has just happened," he said, after taking time to consider. "It may be better that he doesn't know."
Finally, walking back into his room, Gramps sat down to rest. Of course he knew that he probably couldn't: he would still have to check on the two new patients in the morning and the surgery was pretty tough on him. But the most important thing?
Eden was close.
