Personality
Kairi is has a very sweet nature and is openly friendly though occasionally wary of new people, but this does not happen often, because of her sweet and caring nature she finds it very easy to attract new friends, people seem to feel at ease around her, and almost instantly become very fond of her. She is always cheerful and only on rare occasions is she ever sad, most of the time choosing to look on the bright side of most situations, giving everyone else hope even in dark times.
Kairi treasures her friendship with Sora and Riku more than anything, and is more than willing to do anything it takes to help them both should they need it, even if it means fighting, she is very courageous and will stop at nothing to do the right thing. She likes to make jokes occasionally, teasing her friends quite a bit, but it is all in fun, she particularly enjoys hanging out with them as much as possible, whether it be merely lying on the beach together, or playing some new game. Kairi is very adventurous and likes to think about other worlds and other places that she and her friends could visit together to share the experience.
History
Kairi lived on Destiny Islands with her friends Sora and Riku, they spent most days talking about getting off the island, and set about building a raft to take them to visit other worlds, a dream that Riku had more than the others. One day the Islands were attacked by creatures called Heartless who could devour peoples hearts, unfortunately Kairi lost hers and was left in a catatonic state, much like a zombie. Sora went on a quest to save his world and all the others and found out that Kairi was in fact one of the seven princess’s of heart, and that she had once resided in Hollow Bastion, before being sent to Destiny Islands where she first met Sora and Riku.
Later Sora discovered that Kairi’s heart was not lost after all but that it was within him, and he gave up his heart to free Kairi’s turning him into a heartless, Kairi however somehow managed to bring Sora back. After defeating Ansem, Sora and Kairi became separated, with Sora promising to return to her with Riku, who had entered the ‘darkness’, and that he would find a way to get back to her. However Sora was encased in a strange vessel and ‘put to sleep’ by Namine’, an order she took from people known as Nobodies.
A year later Kairi and all of Sora's friends slowly begin to remember Sora. After Sora's memories had been restored by Naminé, Kairi sent a letter drifting to the sea in hopes that it will find its way to Sora. She was later confronted by Axel, who hoped to use Kairi to lure Sora to him, however with the help of Pluto, Kairi managed to evade him and wound up in Twilight Town, but was captured by Axel soon after. However, Saïx took Kairi from Axel and imprisoned her and Pluto in a jail cell in The World That Never Was. She escaped her cell however, with the help of Naminé and they were saved from Saïx by Riku, in the guise of Xehanort's Heartless. Riku gave her a Keyblade which she used to fight off the Heartless that Saïx summoned. Kairi and Riku were reunited with Sora, and along with Donald, Goofy and King Mickey, the group faced and defeated Xemnas. Kairi also bonded with Namine who was revealed to be her heartless from when Sora held her heart and she returned to Destiny Islands, Sora and Riku following shortly after.

Roleplay Example
Memories, something to be treasured, something worth holding on to if you could. Memories were the only thing you had left when you had lost all, and thus they were important, like jewels themselves they were best locked away inside your heart until you had need of them, because even memories could be stolen. The waves lapped gently onto the shore of Destiny Islands, the wind moving gently through the abundance of palm trees as the sun glistened atop the sea making it look like it were made of glass, or perhaps crystal, it was a beautiful sight, one that just about anyone could appreciate, just the sound of the waves hitting the shore was serene enough and so relaxing, if you had to think, this would be the perfect place.
A young girl stood on the beach, her shoes just out of reach of the waves, her crimson hair moved gently about her face as the wind caught it, a smile crept across her lips as she moved a little closer to the waters edge, the sun glinting off of the zips on her pale pink dress as she sighed lightly her smile still remaining. Kairi stared out at the ocean her eyes glinting, she looked thoughtful, she was remembering the time her memories were taken from her, when she could no longer remember Sora. Sora...her closest friend next to Riku, they always did things together and she never wanted that to change, but it had once, she had lost all knowledge of Sora, his name, what he looked like, the sound of his voice, everything.
It starts with S? She remembered him saying his voice resounding in her head, the two were somehow linked at the point as Sora’s own memories returned to him, she had started to remember fragments then, bits and pieces here and there about him always being with her and Riku, it was somewhat difficult to try and fit the puzzle back together but eventually she did remember his name, remember everything about him. “It starts with S, right ‘Sora” she said with a light laugh, although it had been some time since the events that had led to the defeat of the nobodies and the heartless it felt like it had only been a few days ago, perhaps less, the memories still fresh in her mind, brand new.
Kairi turned away from the ocean running her hand through her hair as she looked down at the sand, staring at the footprints she had made, they would wash away eventually just like most things they were not built to last, like the ocean beating away at the surface of a cliff. With each passing month a little more of the cliff was washed away, but memories, memories could never be completely lost, there was always something to remind you of them, a smell, a voice, a sight, no matter how hard people tried, they could never truly take your memories, not if you refused to let them, not if you held tightly to them and treasure them forever.
