Halo walked down the white sandy beaches on the outskirts of Jump City. The moon was now high and its light was glistening on the crystal clear water. The light caught Halo's face just right and made her truly look like an angel, a good one. She had no shoes and as she continued to walk the sand became cooler and cooler under her feet for now there was no sun to keep it hot. She could feel the temperature slowly dropping. She felt a small mist blow up and touch her face as a result of the waves coming from the endless sea, which was now silent. Seeing such a beautiful sight made her realize for the first time that the sea was something more than just water. It was a basis of life. This was not a common though for her even though she was not all bad. She hardly ever thought of good things because everything that was ever good to her was gone. What had happened to her? She was once a kind gentle girl, but now she only felt hatred toward the world. The world had been cruel and life had been tough. She had been so much that now she thought she could handle anything, well mostly anything. She sighed knowing that she would never be as perfect as she had once hoped to be. Gentle and calm like the breeze that swept across her fair skin. She knew that nothing perfect could ever last, not even this cool breeze, not the perfect silence that came from the endless sea that lay before her.
She fell to her knees covering her black dress with the white sand, her hair moving ever so slightly with the wind, and small tears trickled down her soft skin. She needed a friend, but she was sad to say she didn't have any, she had never really had a true friend. This was something she wasn't proud of, but she wasn't ashamed either. She couldn't remember anytime when she had actually let her emotions just pour out like this. She had always been good at hiding what she really felt inside, no matter how awful she felt, but now was the time when she had too much to hold in. She had let her emotions of hatred and sorrow fill up inside her until there was no more room for any emotions at all.
She got off her knees and stood. The oceans silent breath blew away any traces of sand left on her smooth dress. She looked up at the moon just to a see a small cloud pass in front of it. The cloud was small and even though the cloud was completely covered, a bright light still emerged from all sides of the cloud. The cloud slowly spread apart and was gone in a matter of seconds, but to Halo it seemed like a lifetime. A sad lifetime filled with horrible people and horrible things keeping you from what you want. Halo had once wanted to be good, but she had been cut off from that path so many times that she had given up. She had been filled with complete hatred. Now, what happened to her really didn't matter because no matter what she wanted she would be forced to do just to opposite. She looked up at the moon once more thinking how wonderful it would be to live in a perfect place where evil didn't not exist, where all was good, a place where she would be free.
She began to walk toward the water; not bothering to pull up her dress for it would dry. She walked toward the water as if all her troubles were gone. She slowly stopped crying as she waded farther and farther into the water. It was if her troubles had done as the tiny little cloud had just vanished. Then they came back. The water wasn't even up to her ankles, but still she was in the water. She began to cry once again and fell back as if she waiting for someone to catch her, but no one did. No one helped her for she was the only one there. No one was ever there for her and she was never there for them.
She sat up. Grazia... She remembered the girl from the alley. Halo had told her that she would be there to help if she needed it. Halo assumed that this girl would also help her. For the first time in her life she had someone she could depend on. Halo had hurt the girl and didn't feel like being anything more than allies at the time, but no the girl had had plenty of time to heal and maybe, just maybe she would soon gain a friend that is if she ever saw her again. That wasn't the point, she had made a ally. She may not ever see her again, but if she did she would have someone to count on. Her happy moment fell, like every other happy thought had. She was once again filled with great sorrow, but the smallest thought of hope was still there, somewhere. Waiting to come out, waiting for the right moment, the moment when happiness was need to keep everything from falling apart.
She stood up. She let one small tear fall down her face before she ceased all crying for a long time. She did not cry often, but when she did it wasn't something that was easily stopped. It continued no matter what happy thoughts entered her mind. She walked down the beach and as she did she began picked up shells, things that once held life and would someday hold life once again. This gave Halo hope. Life was the one happy thought that would never leave her mind for everything in her life could be taken away, but her will to live her life was something she would never loose, no matter what.

Ahhh. What a beautiful morning to live outside in a cave, Grazia said to herself one morning. She had picked the perfect cave about a quarter of a mile from the beach. She decided today would be a good day to swim. She went to the back of the small cave, and pick up some shorts and a t-shirt. She threw them on, grabbed a snack, and headed out the cave entrance. She didn't mind leaving in the morning becasue it wasn't like anyone was actually going to come this far out of town just to chase some random 15 year old girl.
She headed outside, looking up at the sun. She yawned and stretched and sat down for a minute. She wasn't tired, but she had a lot on her mind. She looked up and saw a small cloud in the sky. There was only one, but it was pretty dark from where she was. She looked at it for a moment, thinking to herself. It reminded her of someone. She just couldn't think of who it did though. She shrugged, and stood up. She stared out and spotted the beach. She sighed, and walked on.
As she was walking, a powerful sensation inside her hd told her not to go to the beach today, but she thought it was absurd. Why wouldn't I go to the beach today? There's only one cloud in the sky, and it's passing over. Besides, I need a little fresh air. She was pretty good at ignoring things, but she kept thinking maybe she should have listened to her instincts today.
She walked over a grassy hill, and came in clear view with a long, sandy white beach. She smiled, and sighed happily. She did a quick walk towards the beach, almost like a small skip. She was very content right now, and she thought the beach would be the perfect place to continue her relaxation.
She stepped onto the soft sand, and felt the small sand pebbles flow between her toes. She didn't bother bringing any shoes, and she just loved the feeling of sand. And for some reason, it felt better toay. She was never usually in this good of a mood, but today seemed different. like a whole new life. Like she was reborn.
She noticed there weren't too many people at the beach today, but that made it all better. Less people more quiet and relaxation time. She set up her towel in a soft shady spot under a tree. She laid down on her back, and stared out towards the ocean. She had always had this dream about one day having enough energy to just fly over the ocean. She thought that would be fun. It would be a good chance to use her powers for enjoyable things, instead of just to kepp them for no reason.
She started to doze off, but she wanted to stay awake today. besides, she had something on her mind that she just coulodn't think of. It was like something in the back of her head, just stuck in there, waiting to be revieled. She wanted to think of it though, becasue she couldn't totally relax until she did.
The sun started to move directly over her, so she used her telekanisis to move the tree farther over her. To bend it so the sun wouldn't get to her. She didn't really care if anyone saw, but it wasn't like there were many people out there today anyway.
She stared straight into the sky, and saw the tiny black cloud straight over her. The funny thing was, there wasn't any rain, or lightning. LIGHTNING. She knew what she had in mind had to do with lightning. But what. What could it be? It started to annoy her, so she got up, and started to walk on the beach. She walked across the soft sand, looking down the whole way, trying to get this extremely annoying sensation out of her. but she just couldn't think of what it was. But whatever it was, it wouldn't leave her alone. The weirdest thing was, the farther she walked down the beach, the more it annoyed her. It was like she was walking closer to the thought.
She stopped, and turned towards the ocean. She put her feet in the water, letting the soft waves flow between her toes. She sat down, letting the waves calm her down. Besides, she was always calmer when she was near water. Then suddenly, the annoyance dissapeared. She looked up, and looked around. Funny, no one was at the beach from where she could see. She put her head back down, and held onto her knees. She was becoming very tired, and weak from all the worrying. She started to cry a little bit. Then suddenly, she heard a noise. Like another girl crying extremely close by. Grazia looked up, and turned her head. there was no one there. When she looked the other way, there was no one there either.
She stood up, and brushed herself off. The annoying sensation suddenly came back. It brought along an extremely painful headache too. But still, throuhg all the pain and annoyance, she could still hear something. Something near her. When she listened into it, it was almost lilke the pain went away. She looked up, and the small dark cloud was not too far in front of her. She was drawn in by it. She headed towards it.
She came to a stop, when she saw a small girl in black standing on the edge of the ocean, weeping her eyes out. Then, all of a sudden, all the pain went away. All the annoyance dissapeared. Grazia's eyes grew big, and she knew. The lightning, the headache, the cloud, and the annoyance. It was a sign. It was a sign, that her old friend Halo needed her help.

Tears soon came streaming down Halo’s face even though she tried so hard to hold them back. She walked a little further down the beaches then she walked over to a pile of rock and sat down. She brought her knees close to her chest and just sat their. She sat like this for a while. She cried off and on for quiet a long time before she finally fell asleep. This didn’t last long. Soon she was up and she was once again crying. She was a wreck. She hadn’t cried this much since, the thought struck her like a thousand tiny pieces of glass. Her parents… They had died in a wreck, but its was a car wreck, something that had a big impact on reality and the rest of someone's life. It wasn't an emotional wreck, that was different for each person and was out of someone’s memory almost as soon as it had come. An emotional wreck could often be overcome, but a car wreck was permanent, the effects were permanent and sometimes, deadly.
Now she regretted ever hating her parents. They were the only people she had ever really trusted. They had been there for her and when they were gone Halo had acted like they had been horrible people. She continued to cry and told herself that she would never again think a hateful though about her loving parents. She cried through the rest of the night and into the morning. She normally would have changed into something a bit more comfortable for when it was daytime, but what was the point, it wouldn't help her overcome any of the awful feeling she held inside. She looked up and let the sun's light rain down her face. She felt its warm glow as she stood up. The seashells she had picked up the night before had been sitting in her lap and they slowly fell to the ground gracefully. She had been trapped within herself for to long, waiting till her emotions would let go and leave her happy again, but this would never happen. Even if she could forget all those unhappy memories, she would still be herself. Nothing would ever change that. She walked toward the water. Now it wasn't the moon that lit up the sky and it wasn't the moon that left a beautiful reflection on the water. It was the sun, it was brighter and it wasn't the soothing bluish color that the moon had been, but it was still beautiful.
She though about all the horrible things she had done as she let the morning sun drown her in its light. She was slightly bothered by the horrible things she remembered doing, but she knew she would find herself doing the same horrible things over and over again. That’s just who she was. She looked up and saw a bird. A graceful bird the quickly, yet gracefully, swooped down and glided across the water, so gracefully, so peacefully. She looked to her right and then to her left. It may have been day time, but no one was on the beach, not that many people ever came to this part of the beach. She could sense life nearby, but she thought nothing of it. She assumed it was the wildlife and went on further out into the water. As the waves came in and out then went from being just above her ankles to being close to her knees. She did not continue walking forward, but instead took a few steps back. She watched the sunrise and she watched as the surrounding area came to life. The plants showed their true colors and the sun reached their leaves and petals. She heard the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks, and she watched as a group of birds flew overhead, disappearing in the sun's bright light.
She watched many things as the sun climbed higher into a cloudless sky, except for one small cloud, just like the night before. This time near the powerful sun, not the silent moon. The air was no longer silent for she could here children running and laughing just over the rocks, which were to high to see over. She continued to cry. She felt like running, anywhere. Anywhere that a friend could be found, but she remembered back to the night before, the closest thing she had to a friend was probably long gone by now. Halo feared that she had scared Grazia so bad that she had made her leave town.
Once again her mind told her that life was near. She used her mind and found a wondering thought. She knew that only one person could be thinking such a thought, well only one person that she knew. She also had heard the faintest foot steps behind her. She turned around to find Grazia staring straight at her. She knew right then that they would be more than allies, they would be friends. Well as close to friends as... she stopped, she realized that she wasn't good and she wasn't evil she was in the middle, she was... what? She couldn't think. She had wondered where Grazia had gotten to after their first meeting just a few days before. She hadn't scared her enough to make her leave, and for this she was glad. She wiped away her last tear as she looked back up at Grazia... Her friend, her first real friend...
You didn't leave the city? She paused for she was still confused as to why this girl didn't seem to pay attention to warning, she may be her friend now, but when she had met her they were allies, but not really even that. She was however glad that Grazia didn't pay heed to her warning. I though you had left, but I guess I can't tell what every thought you think is. She smiled, which she didn't do often, and she laughed, for some unknown reason. Maybe it was because she had miscalculated this girls thoughts and maybe she was just so happy that smiling wasn't enough. She wasn't sure of the reason, but she was glad, what ever it was.

She looked at poor little Halo, sitting there sobbing her eyes out. She stared at her for a second, then heard her speak.
"You didn't leave the city?" she asked Grazia with a happy look in her eyes. Grazia was confused. She had never seen Halo this happy, even when she had won the fight back in the alley, she still was not smiling one bit... now she was laughing? This was too much for her to handle. But before she could say something or walk away, Halo looked up at Grazia again. Grazia could see resentment in her eyes.
Then Halo spoke something to Grazia on which she could barely hear, and had to listen in carefully. "I though you had left, but I guess I can't tell what every thought you think is." Grazia turned her head, a little bit more confused than completely confused. She smiled at Halo, reassuring her that everything was going to be ok. She didn't need an explanation now. She completely understood... Halo was all alone, and needed A friend, she needed someone to be there for her, and she regreted everything she had done as a child. She needed help, and Grazia was here to help her.
She waited for Halo to reply to her, but she didn't say a word. Grazia started to get mad. Look I can't help you if you're not gonna talk to me. She wondered why Halo wouldn't talk to her. She just kept on laughing so hard she started crying.

Shadow looked up. She was now standing and she couldn't stop laughing. She was so happy, which was very unusuall. She had let so much anger and hatred go. It had washed away with the sea and it made her feel so good. She turned so that she was face to face with Grazia. She still had anger hidden somewhere in side, but for now she was happy. She was going to enjoy this moment because soon she would be back to her old self. She was rather relieved because she like the way she normally was. She took a deep breath and finally stopped laughing. She sighed.
With this small breath she let everything out, including her happiness. Now she was nothing, but herself. What's there to talk about, I am perfectly fine. She said this in a very calm voice, like the one she had used in the alley. She lied when she said there was nothing to talk about, but really all she would have said anyway was, Oh yeah I just had nervous break down. I let all my anger go... But this would have been a lie to considering she had only let the hatred of her family go.
Halo kind of wanted to leave, but Grazia had just shown up and that would be rather rude. So, why are you out here. it was a very hot day and Halo had a reason for being on the beach, not a good reason, but still, a reason. She waited to see if Grazia would respond. By now a storm had blown in. She turned away from Grazia and looked up at the clouds while waiting for Grazia's response. She watched as the dark clouds slowly consumed the sun's warmth and light. Like her really, she was free one moment and the next she was consumed by darkness. She wondered about her life for only a moment, and then she wondered about Grazia's life. Had she had a good or even great life, or had her life been worse that even Halo's. She couldn't immagine anything waorse than what she had gone through, but she awas sure that there was something. She didn't have to wonder, she could have just read her mind, but that was on thing she would do. She wasn't going to use her powers to find out something like that. She knew that if she gained enough trust, that Grazia would eventually tell her.
