Ruby was somewhat always didn't want to o to the beach, it wasn't because she hated it or anything, because she had always loved going to the beach every weekend when going with her friends a long time ago before she had gotten her powers. However since she had gotten these stupid powers; that what she calls them anyway, even a slightest drop of water can burn out her powers.
But today she just wanted to take a stroll a long the beach, as she looked out into the ocean and sighed as she sat down, tucked her knees in and looked out to the ocean, which as well the sun was setting. "Why did I have to have these powers." she said to herself, as she grabbed some sand, closed her right hand, opened them back up seeing that before was sand; now was burnt sand. "I wished somehow these powers would just disappear so I don't have to worry about them anymore." however as Ruby said this she thought about it. "But then, it just won't be right, then I'm just not going to be myself."
Ruby suddenly started to cry as she covered her face in her hand, it was always a difficult thing that has been bothering her, but knew that no matter what it would never go away. Then she heard something in the water, or at least she thought she did, so Ruby looked back up and saw a shark fin, Ruby finally gulped as she had gotten up and looked at where it was heading, to her surprised it was heading right at her.
Ruby finally got into a position and blasted fire at the shark, but it was no use, the shark still kept coming. So Ruby ran as fast as she could, however as she looked behind her, it was still following her. Suddenly she fell, as she noticed that her foot was caught on a branch that was growing out of the ground and couldn't get out, Ruby used her fire on it but it was no used, this branch was somewhat fire proof and to strong to take it out of the ground.
Looking back at the shark, she could see that it had stopped right where the water meet the sand, she sighed as then she closed her eyes and opened them back up seeing the shark had somehow gotten out of the water. Ruby gulped as she couldn't really do anything, but do only one other thing. Ruby finally looked around "Help!" she screamed, hoping someone had heard her.
