Night, the perfect time to cover oneself in a shroud so black that they would never find you, never see you for what you really were, it was also the time when strange things occurred, the moon seemed to send people into a strange frenzy parties would begin, fights would erupt, it was almost as though humans were connected to the moon somehow, drawn to it by instinct perhaps. Neko purred quietly brushing her claws through her auburn tresses before stretching out, her whole body arching before her tail whipped to the side, a gentle miaow leaving her fur lined lips. By day she was a normal teenager, Nikki Ashton, daughter of a rather wealthy scientist...well she used to be, that was how she had come here, how she had no family to call her own, and why she had no friends.
A test subject, a thing to be played with, that was what her father had seen her as and nothing more, but she had shown him she was more than that, although part of her regretted that night, the night she killed him, tearing his flesh savagely with new powerful jaws, some of her was pleased about it, like most animals caged for far too long, Nikki had let her instincts do all the work for her, and they told her that her captor had deserved death, and that her actions were justified. She was a were cat, a creature that changed at night, becoming something she had heard described as a Neko in comic books, that was why she took the name, half cat half human, and whilst she hated the way she looked, she did enjoy the enhanced abilities that came with the transformation.
“Hmm...I’m hungry” she said as she licked her paw using the wet side to preen the fur that wasn’t covered by clothing. It had taken a lot of getting used to, she didn’t like to attack people as far as she was concerned she still was one, and it would make her...well a cannibal and that was not something she was willing to become, but occasionally the cat took over, usually when she had not eaten for a few days, it was harder then to control her urges, and a few mice and rats did not seem to quench her thirst for flesh, though they worked in the short term, but tonight...tonight she was determined to have her fill. Exiting the alleyway she had been sleeping in, she stepped out onto the street, her emerald eyes glowing in the moonlight, woe betide anyone who would mess with this kitty tonight.

Zara walked down the road swiftly and wuietly. The sun had just gone down and now the skies were covered with stars. She had only been in the city one day and even though she wasn't a very nice person she was hoping to meet someone. She had a feeling that night time was when her kind came out, her kind meaning not very nice people. She didn't know much about Jump Cit, considering she had never been there before. She was glad to be away from her grandparents and all the memories of long ago, meaning memories of her parents and her so called friends.
She had left that life. She was made fun off and she was tired of it. She wanted to be known. She wanted people to be afraid when they heard her name. She wanted power, and right now she wanted food. She continued to walk passing one closed store after another. I guess I will wait till morning to get some food... she said quietly to herself even thought she was actually starving. She looked ahead. What she saw amazed her.
Two glowing lights of an emerald shade. They caught her attention and now she was curious as to what they were. Was it some sort of creature that she should fear or just an innocent little cat. She wasn't sure but she intended to find out. She walked toward the two gleaming lights to find it was not an innocent little kitty, but rather a big mean looking kitty, with clothes.
Hmm, a cat with clothes, no thats not wierd at all... she said with a scarcastic tone as she slowly walked closer to the cat... thing...

Neko’s ears pricked up as she heard footsteps approaching and she turned sharply, her auburn hair gracing her shoulders as she hissed loudly revealing her fangs, who was this girl that thought she could creep up on her? Perhaps she had not been so much creeping up as walking up but still why was she approaching her anyway? Wasn’t she afraid, wasn’t she so ful of terror that her body shook with every step? No, it didn’t seem that way, it seemed more like curiosity to her, they said that curiosity killed the cat, well in this case it would more than likely be curiosity killed the human. “What are you staring at meat bag!” she shouted a low growl emanating from her throat as her tail lashed from side to side in an outward display of agitation.
If this had been in daylight she would not have been so defensive, in daylight the normal form of Nikki Ashton gave no clue as to the dangerous feline form of Neko, she was more confident as a cat, had less worries she found besides the obvious, Nikki was weak and scared of most things including mice and rats, but Neko, she liked to eat them. Once in a while the consciousness between cat and girl became separated, and whilst Nikki tried everything to control the cat, it was usually the cat who won out in the end, after all she was stronger. Neko eyed Shadow for a long moment her ears twitching slightly as she listened to the other sounds that bounced around the city, the good thing about being a cat, enhanced hearing was definitely an interesting trait, she could hear a pin drop in a noisy room, now that was something to be proud of.
“What’s the matter cat got your tongue?” she asked laughing quietly at the irony of her statement, perhaps she would have her tongue soon, and her liver, and perhaps her stomach too. She licked her lips as she contemplated the luxury of a fresh meal, she didn’t get a lot of those these days.

Zara sent out a waves of light and when it was gone she was no longer wearing her daytime atire. Now she was Shadow, a mysterious young girl hidden behind a black dress and her face could no longer be seen. She didn't realy want to fight, but it was night and she would have changed anyway. She was not afraid of this cat, but she was rather shocked at the fact that it could talk... cats dont talk.
If you think I'm afraid you are terribly mistaken. I am however curious as to what you are.
Shadow didn't expect the cat to answer her, but it was worth a shot. She rather hoped that the cat would answer the question for Shadow new this wasn't a normal cat, but what was it a werecat... hmm this couldn't be it could it. Shadow had heard or werewolves but never a werecat. Shadow didn't think that no matter what this thing was it was no real threat to her...
What are you? Some crazy shapeshifter or something? Shadow was afraid that this statement might make the cat mad, but she didn't care. She had already said it anyway so now it didn't matter if she regretted saying it.

Neko’s hiss grew louder and she raised her arm to her eyes, shielding them from the majority of the light as she watched the girl enshroud herself in it for a moment before revealing herself in a whole new ensemble when the light dissipated, what was this? Some sort of deranged magic show? Did everyone in this city hold some secret power that they revealed whenever they wished? She felt a slight hint of jealousy as she stared at the girl, at least when she ‘transformed’ she remained herself, albeit in a different outfit, when she changed she became a cat, personally she would prefer the change of clothes, no matter how drab the colour. “I didn’t ask you to be scared, I asked you why you were staring” she said the growl in her voice deepening, she already didn’t like this girl, and mostly through her lack of manners, it was rude to stare.
The cat girl laughed when she heard Shadow’s next question, a shape shifter indeed, what sort of insult was that supposed to be? Did she look like a shape shifter? If she was one she could certainly have come up with something better than looking like a half cat mutant that was for sure. “Shape shifter indeed, don’t insult me” she shouted her tail wrapping around her leg as she flexed her shoulders releasing a quiet purr as she swayed from side to side a little eyeing her up. She would make an excellent meal, but she wasn’t hungry enough for human flesh tonight, rats would have to do again, she honestly didn’t like to eat rats, mostly because her human side told her they were diseased and full of fleas, and the last thing she needed was fleas. From having pets as a child, she knew all too well how horrible they were to get rid of once your animal had them, and she did not want to experience them first hand.
“Anyway, I’m more curious as to what you are, running around with your stupid light show” she said running her claws through her hair gently, combing out the knots, claws were useful for more than tearing at flesh, oh yes, they made a decent comb too, though sometimes she wished she had a real one, especially after a kill...all that blood was a nightmare to get out of your hair.

Shadow had a feeling that neko's question about why she was staring was retorical because, honostly, who wouldn't star at a giant cat in the middle of the city. The only other thing to do would be to run away, but Shadow had no need to run away. Stupid light show? Is that the best you can do? Shadow was slightly insuted by this considering that it was not easy doing what she had just done. She also wanted to laugh at the poor cat because of her horrible insults.
Well, since we are both curious I guess I will explain myself first. I am just a shadow. A shadow that hides in the light just waiting for someone to comeclose. Shadow said as if explaining to a three year old. Shadow didn't feel like saying, oh yeah i have the power of lightmanipulation. She thought she had made that perfectly clear. She also didn't feel like telling her that she could fly and that she had daggers and twin blades with her.
Honostly, what could a giant cat do to her. Its just like anyother cat, just bigger and it can talk. Not much of a difference. Plus, she wasn't going to take a cat seriously, who would. A person might be scared but still, its just a cat.
Now that I've explained i do believe its your turn... She said as she slowly walked a little bit closer.

Neko listened carefully to her words her tail unwrapping from her leg as it swished back and forth gently in a rhythm of its own choosing. Shadow, so that was her name was it? It would seem appropriate but why on earth would someone with a name like Shadow have power over light, it didn’t add up, light chased away Shadow did it not? If you had enough light you could eliminate all shadows in the area with great ease, but then since when did anyone’s powers make sense, hers certainly didn’t after all, who in their right mind would want to become a cat at night? “Seems to me that your power is a contradiction of your name sweetie” she said purring loudly before yawning feigning boredom before she moved forward a little.
She wanted to know what she was that badly? Hah, it was funny really how curious humans were, it was usually their downfall, like those people of history with that horse of whatever it had been, she hadn’t much liked history and her tutors hadn’t shown all that much interest in teaching her. Neko smiled, revealing her pointed canines, the teeth of a cat and the teeth of a predator. “I was a normal girl once, as normal as you can get anyway, but my father decided I would make a better science experiment than a daughter....so I killed him” she said placing her hands on her hips now as her eyes once again moved over Shadow’s body, reading her pulse.
“I am a were cat, by day your normal teen, by night a girl infused with Wild Cat DNA, I hunt, I kill, just like any other animal, does that bother you?”. Neko laughed quietly, more mockingly than out of any actual amusement, she enjoyed playing games, and she considered this game to be particularly entertaining.

Shadow was a little ticked off at the statement about her name. She had chosen that name for a readon. Why do you think I chose the name. It was because I can manipulate light and Shadow is almost exactly oppposite of light. I know, you can't understand that, your... Shadow took a small breath... a cat... Shadow laughed, but just a little.
A werecat, just like she had thought. This didn't bother her one bit. There were so many strange things in this world, what made this any different. She was just another person that had gained power. She wasn't even shocked that this person or watever had killed her father. Natural cat instincts and natural human instincts under those kinds of circumstances. Shadow was getting ever so slightly bored with this. She knew that she would have to move quickly if anything happened and she was ready.
She walked closer seeing as when she moved the werecat moved too. She could see that this cat didn't like her and didn't care what she could do. Honostly, Shadow didn't like this cat. She seemed think highly of herself, but so did Shadow. Well, do you have a name... because when I describe myself its obvious, I could call you kitten if you like. Shadow was still bored, but wondered what the cat would do as a response to that statement...

Neko hissed, just a cat was she? She was a lot more than a cat, she was a were cat that meant she was part human, human like this filth that stood before her, she wasn’t worth the effort, she definitely wouldn’t be eating her, she might catch some sort of disease from her. “I’m not just a cat sweetie, I am still half human” she said her voice holding a deep growl to it as she moved closer to her starting to move around her now, circling her like she had circled so many of her prey before she had struck them. She wasn’t going to strike Shadow oh no that would be too easy and quite frankly she wanted to play this game of ‘cat and mouse’ a little longer, she was going to bide her time with this girl, and wait for the opportune moment, only then would she attack her, and make her regret her words.
“My name is Neko, not that it is of any concern of yours, if I’m just a cat to you” she continued circling, wiping her paw across her eyes as they glowed once more with emerald light, she was agitated beyond belief, but was doing fairly well to keep that fact concealed from this girl, at least for now, if she wanted to she could have ripped her throat out by now, but she was patient, she would wait, she had to wait. “So, what brings a small little thing like you out here on such a dark night, looking for your mommy?” she asked laughing at her joke, she knew that this was far from the reason Shadow would be around at night, let alone anyone else, most children would be in bed by now, or at least inside their homes, but here she was roaming the streets.

Neko... nice name. This cat may have been part human, but only half. Shadow was all human with awsome powers. You maybe part human, but that still only half... in other words... your not worth my time... Your not even posing a threat. Shadow concentrated on the other question Neko had asked... Shadow knew that it was a retorical question but she dicided to answer it anyway. If I was looking for my mommy i would be just as pathetic as you, but it doesn't really matter because my parents are dead. The only differnece is that i didn't kill me father, or my mother for that matter...
Shadow flew up for she was tired of Neko going in circles around her. She slowly lowered herself back to the ground now facing Neko instead of being circled by her. Shadow didn't like when people, or cats circled because their actions were to predictable. Aw, you were making circles, i didn't think you were that smart, good for you... Shadow said, once again using the voice that would be used when talking to a small child...

Neko laughed again showing off her teeth once more, oh this was amusing now, so because she wasn’t human she wasn’t a threat? What about that Teen Titans...Star something as she recalled, she wasn’t human and she made a rather formidable foe what with her alien powers, would she have also seen no threat in her merely because she wasn’t human? She liked to think so, she knew well enough to never underestimate your enemy, always make sure you know them well before you decide to ‘play’ with them, that was the golden rule, and she was learning quite a lot of interesting things from Shadow, and mostly that she had very few manners and seemed to like making jokes about her intelligence, if only she knew that her IQ was up there with the best, she wasn’t the daughter of a scientist for nothing.
Memories flashed across her mind as she remmebered her mother, so soft and gentle, a warm and loving person killed by an unknown virus...she had been so beautiful and she remembered her lying in her coffin still looking so sweet. She shook her head sharply mumbling something incoherent before glaring at Shadow her statement causing a stir of anger within her mind. “I didn’t kill my mother, she died when I was child, and my father got what he deserved for what he put me through” she shouted with a growl, she lowered herself to the floor a little, like she was waiting to pounce before she straightened up again her auburn tresses crossing over her eyes as she smirked, this girl almost seemed to be trying to annoy her, trying to coax a volatile reaction out of her, well she wasn’t going to play on her terms that was for sure.

Shadow, being evil and all, was beginning to like the Neko's attitude and view of what people deserve. Shadow thought to herself, she would have done the same thing to her father if he had turned her into a cat. Aw, am I making you mad, I never said you killed your mother, but if your mother hadn't died when you were little you probably would have killed her when you killed your father. Shadow was now enjoying this. She loved to make people mad, but only if they made her mad first.
Shadow remembered her own parents. All she could remember is her mom, putting a necklace on and her dad putting on his suit jacket. She also remembered the day they died, even though all of this had happened when she was just a little kid, very little. She brought herself back to reality and looked at Neko with a dead stare. Although Shadow loved to make people mad, but she was also tired of playing games. This was pointless, really what good would talking do. It certainly hadn't helped her. All it had done was give her an enemy, and not a very threatening one at that, well not yet anyway. She was tired because of all the walking she had done lately. Honostly, all she wanted to do was go to sleep, which was odd considering she was mad due to this Neko person. She may have been tired, but she wasn't just gonna let Neko get away with insulting her. The only problem was, should she just get rid of Neko or insult her till she was so mad that she lost it?

This statement made all the fur on the back of Neko’s neck raise in anger as she spat on the floor near Shadow, how dare she say she would have killed her mother, she would never have harmed her she was so innocent, pure like an angel, her every word lit up a room, her presence causing a calming effect on all those around her. Even when she was dying she had remained sweet, still caring in nature even though she was in great pain, if she could have died instead of her mother she would have but that would have been impossible, the virus was not transferable by touch, but if she had been able to take her illness and relieve her pain she would have.
“Filthy creature, I could never have harmed my mother she was the only one who had ever cared for me” she shouted a loud hiss escaping her lips as she crouched down to the ground her tail lashing back and forth in pure agitation now, she had crossed the line between decency and insult, no matter how rude Neko could be if she wanted to, she would never bring anyone’s family into the matter, however with this girl she was now going to make an exception. “What of your parents? Embarrassed of you are they? Kill themselves when they realised just how worthless you are?” her words were cruel, crueller then she would normally dare to tread, but this girl deserved every insult she could muster, she would regret insulting her.

Shadow was hardly concerend with Neko's insults. SHe knew the truth about her peraents and soon so would Neko. No, my paretns died trying to save me from being taken and trained for evil, but their efforts were worthless because I joined the darkside anyway. Shadow was pleased with her response. Shadow had always heted her family, and everyone for that matter. She didn't care what people said about her family. She could say anything and no one would ever be able to hurt her with a insult regarding her family.
Shadow could see that Neko was mad. Apparently she "loved" her mother. How sweet. Shadow hated sweet. She hadn't been sweet since the day her parents had died. Once a happy "normal" kid, now a horrible nightmare to anyone that crossed her path. She was now looking directly at Neko...If I'm making you mad, you could just leave you know... Shadow was noe enjoying this far to much and hoped that Neko would stay... or at least do something other thatn walk around in circles...What was this cat doing, watching, waiting, planning? Was she scared or just mad.

Dark side? Was she for real? What was she some sort of Star Wars reject or something, or maybe one of those geeks that lined up outside convention centres hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite star in full costume with all the other nerds? The dark side indeed, what a ridiculous turn of phrase, it wasn’t the worst thing she had ever heard, but it wasn’t the best either, she could have though of way better things to describe becoming evil, that was what she was trying to say right? “The dark side? Give me a break what are you some sort of Star Wars fan?” she said laughing as she said it her hair falling back over her shoulders, her laugh lasted for quite some time before she regained some of her composure, this was just all too funny.
Mad? She thought she was making her mad? Oh hardly, true she had ticked her off somewhat but she was far from boiling over just yet. Neko’s ears twitched and she turned her head sharply her eyes glinting as she now turned her attention to a small group of young girls walking down the street and her stomach rumbled as she considered chasing after them. “I have an idea Princess Leya” she said mockingly as she ran her claws through her hair. “I’m hungry and that group of girls looks like they could be fun to terrorise, I’ll make you a little deal, if you go away now, I’ll eat one of them instead of you, seem fair?” she asked purring loudly, she’d much rather have a meal that didn’t fight tonight, she wasn’t in the mood.
